Appointments & the practice

How do I request an appointment at APRM Solutions?

Call (475) 314-3113, email docwaltzer@aprmsolutions.com, or submit the appointment request form on the Contact page. A team member confirms the details with you, so a submitted request is not a confirmed booking until you hear back.

Where is APRM Solutions located?

APRM Solutions is located in Shelton, Connecticut, serving patients from communities across New Haven and Fairfield Counties. Call the office for the current address and directions.

What are the office hours?

The practice is currently open Tuesday 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and Thursday and Friday 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Hours may change, so call to confirm current availability before your visit.

Do you see new patients?

Yes, the practice welcomes new patients across its services. Call or submit a request and the team will confirm next steps.

Can I book IV therapy, NAD+ therapy or an exam as a standalone service?

Not necessarily. You can book IV therapy, NAD+ therapy or an exam as a standalone service without being a primary care patient. The team coordinates primary care with the practice's other services and will tell you which option fits your situation.

02

Primary care

What should I expect at my first primary care visit?

A conversation about your health history and goals, vital signs, a focused exam where appropriate, and a care plan you understand. Bring a photo ID, insurance card, medication list and any recent records.

Can primary care visits happen by telemedicine?

Many follow-ups and medication discussions can happen virtually. Physical exams and first-visit assessments that require hands-on care happen in person. See the Telemedicine page for details.

How often should I get a physical or checkup?

The right schedule depends on your age, health conditions and risk factors. Preventive visits are a core part of primary care at the practice, and the team recommends a cadence that fits your situation during your visit.

03

IV therapy & NAD+

What is nutritional IV therapy?

Nutritional IV therapy delivers fluids, vitamins and minerals directly into the bloodstream through an IV, under medical supervision. It is a wellness service, not a treatment for any disease, and it starts with an evaluation.

Is IV therapy covered by insurance?

Coverage varies by plan and service. Insurance-based nutritional IV therapy is a focus of the practice; call and the team will check your eligibility for the specific service.

What is NAD+ therapy?

NAD+ therapy is the supervised administration of the coenzyme NAD+ by IV or intramuscular injection for wellness goals. It is an emerging area of research and is not FDA-approved to treat any disease.

How do I know if NAD+ is right for me?

Through a medical consultation. The team reviews your history, medications and goals, then gives you an honest answer about whether NAD+ fits your situation.

How long does an IV therapy session take?

Session time depends on the formulation and the volume of fluid. The team gives you an accurate estimate at your consultation so you can plan the visit.

Who is not a candidate for IV therapy?

Suitability is decided individually. The medical team reviews your health history, medications and goals first, and some people are not good candidates. The consultation answers this question for you specifically.

What should I expect during a NAD+ IV session?

You relax in a recliner in the infusion space while the drip runs over a measured period, with the medical team nearby. It is normal to discuss sensations and comfort during the session; some people notice mild sensations such as warmth or a flushed feeling.

04

Regenerative & peptide therapy

Are regenerative therapies FDA-approved?

Many cell-based and tissue-based regenerative products are not FDA-approved for the wellness uses for which they are marketed. The team clearly distinguishes what is established from what is experimental.

Does the clinic offer a standard peptide protocol?

No. Peptides are evaluated case by case, prescribed only when appropriate, and monitored with follow-up. The clinic does not publish a catalog or promise results.

What are peptides?

Peptides are short chains of amino acids, the building blocks of proteins. Some peptides occur naturally in the body and act as signaling molecules. A number of peptide-based medications are FDA-approved for specific conditions, while many others are studied or marketed for wellness uses without FDA approval.

How does PRP therapy work?

Your blood is drawn, processed to concentrate platelets and growth factors, and then administered according to your plan, sometimes by IV. Because it uses your own blood, it avoids some allergy and compatibility concerns, though risks still exist.

05

Medical weight management

Does the weight management program guarantee results?

No. Outcomes depend on many individual factors. The program provides an evaluation, an individualized plan and professional follow-up, and it adjusts when something is not working.

Are weight-loss medications prescribed for everyone?

No. Medications are considered only when clinically appropriate and prescribed by the treating clinician after evaluation.

How does the medical weight management program work?

It starts with an evaluation: health history, medications, relevant labs and your goals. The team then builds an individualized plan that may include nutrition guidance, activity planning, behavioral support and, when appropriate, FDA-approved weight-management medications. Progress is reviewed at follow-up visits.

Can I combine weight management with the practice's other services?

Yes. Many patients coordinate weight management with primary care, IV therapy or NAD+ therapy. One team keeps the whole picture consistent.

06

DOT physicals

What should I bring to a DOT physical?

A valid driver's license, current medication list, corrective lenses or hearing aids if used, relevant medical records, and your most recent Medical Examiner's Certificate if renewing.

How long is a DOT medical certificate valid?

Up to 24 months; the examiner may issue a shorter certificate when a condition needs monitoring.

What conditions can affect my DOT certification?

Blood pressure, diabetes, vision, hearing, heart conditions and certain medications all come into play. The certified Medical Examiner determines whether you meet the standards and whether monitoring is needed. Bringing accurate information is the best way to avoid surprises.

What happens if I do not pass a DOT physical?

The examiner explains the reason and what would need to change to qualify, such as treating a condition or gathering additional records. Many drivers return to certification once the underlying issue is managed.

07

Immigration medical exams

What documents may I need for an immigration medical exam?

A government-issued photo ID, vaccination and immunization records, and any relevant medical records. The exam is completed by a USCIS-designated civil surgeon on Form I-693.

Can I open the sealed Form I-693 envelope?

No. The civil surgeon seals the form, and it must be submitted unopened with your application or as USCIS directs.

What does an immigration medical exam include?

A medical history and physical exam, tuberculosis screening, certain blood tests, and a review of your vaccination record against USCIS requirements. The civil surgeon completes, signs and seals Form I-693 at the end.

Is an immigration medical exam the same as a regular physical?

No. It is the medical examination USCIS requires for many immigration applications, completed by a USCIS-designated civil surgeon and reported on Form I-693. Its components follow USCIS requirements, which differ from a routine physical.

08

Insurance & payment

Does APRM Solutions accept my insurance?

The practice participates with several major carriers, including Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare and Medicare. Coverage depends on your plan and the specific service; the team verifies eligibility before you book.

Will my plan cover NAD+ or regenerative therapies?

Often not. Accepting insurance does not mean every service is covered. The team will check your plan for the specific service and explain what to expect.

Will you bill my insurance for me?

The team handles billing for participating plans where applicable and will explain the process at checkout. For non-covered or elective services, you will know costs before you commit.

09

Telemedicine

How does a telemedicine appointment work?

You receive a private video link for your scheduled visit, join from your phone, tablet or computer, and speak with the team as you would in the office. A quiet, private space with stable internet makes the visit smoother.

Can I get medication refills through a telemedicine visit?

In many cases, yes. Medication discussions, including refill and dose questions, are among the visits the practice handles virtually. The team confirms which visits are suited to telemedicine when you book.

10

Labs & testing

Can I get blood work and lab tests at APRM Solutions?

Yes. Routine blood work and screening tests are ordered when appropriate, and blood draws are done at the practice. The team explains results in plain language and tells you how to prepare before your draw.

How do I get my lab results?

The team reviews results with you in plain language, often at a follow-up visit or by telemedicine, and explains any next steps. Ask how your results will be shared when your test is ordered.
